McKinsey states the total length in each candidate's invitation, and each task opens with an untimed tutorial. Candidate reports on preparation sites mention 65, 85 and 95 minute invitations, but those reports do not map reliably to a list of games. Red Rock alone is reported at roughly 35 minutes. Reserve your stated time plus setup margin.

The Solve-specific FAQ does not mention a camera. McKinsey's general assessment-integrity page says candidates should use one screen, be on camera and use only pen and paper for notes and calculations. Outside applications, websites, AI tools, prepared notes and screenshots are prohibited. Follow your invitation and on-screen instructions, and ask your recruiter before test day if anything is unclear.

McKinsey publishes no passing score and considers Solve together with the rest of your application. What you control is the method: select the right evidence and keep its units in Red Rock, check the whole combination against every rule in Sea Wolf, and tie each decision to the stated objective in Sustainable Futures Lab. Rehearse an unfamiliar interface before test day so the real tutorials feel familiar.

The official sources we reviewed publish no universal cutoff, score range or scoring formula. Some candidates report receiving a numerical score or decile after asking their recruiter, but that is not a promised policy. A practice score is feedback on an original exercise, not a hiring prediction.

McKinsey does not publish one universal results timeline. Use the date or window your recruiter or candidate portal gives you, and contact them once if that window passes. Silence after you submit is not a verdict.

The official sources we reviewed publish no retake policy. If the assessment fails technically, contact Solve support at once: support may reset your session or offer extra time, case by case. If you have not started, the August 2025 FAQ lets you pick a new time slot from your original link. After a rejection, ask your recruiter about reapplication timing.

The current official public sources do not publish an invitation rate or say that every applicant receives Solve. Some recruiting programs tell their applicants they will get it, but that is not a McKinsey-wide rule. An invitation does not guarantee an interview, and it does not prove you passed a resume screen.

The math we train for Red Rock is percentage change, percentage points, weighted or pooled rates and choosing the chart that fits the data. Sea Wolf ranges are averages across a set of microbes, which are faster to check as sums. Providers describe an on-screen calculator in Red Rock; outside calculator apps are prohibited during the live assessment.
